Our technicians are certified in structured manicure techniques, including the Russian dry method performed with an electric file and precision bits. That method demands significantly more training than standard polish application because working near the proximal fold leaves no margin for error — and it is precisely what produces the clean, almost painted-on cuticle line clients recognise from professional nail photography.
Beyond application, training covers nail anatomy and pathology recognition, product chemistry, allergy prevention, correct curing times and safe removal. Knowing when not to apply product is as important as knowing how. If we see a possible infection, a severe ingrown nail or an onycholysis, we will say so plainly and recommend you see a specialist before continuing.
Every technician also works to a consistent internal protocol so the experience does not depend on who is assigned to your appointment. The standard is the standard.
Sterilisation and safety protocol
Metal instruments are cleaned, immersed in hospital-grade disinfectant and autoclave-sterilised between every client, then sealed in individual pouches opened in front of you. Files, buffers, orange sticks and towels are single-use. Drill bits follow the same autoclave cycle as metal tools.
Technicians wear masks during gel filing, change gloves between clients and use a disposable cover on every working surface. We use a dust extractor rather than relying on ambient ventilation, which matters in enclosed hotel rooms.
Product safety matters just as much: HEMA-free gels where available, correct curing times to avoid uncured monomer contact with skin, and careful application that keeps product off the cuticle — the single most common cause of lifting and of allergic sensitisation.
What a technician can do that a salon chair cannot
Working one-to-one in your space changes the consultation. There is no queue behind you, no chair to turn over in forty minutes, and no pressure to upsell. That time gets spent on diagnosis and on the small details — symmetry between hands, apex placement, sidewall cleanliness — that separate an acceptable set from an excellent one.

We are a fully mobile team covering the Walled City, Getsemaní, Bocagrande, Castillogrande, El Laguito, Manga, Crespo, La Boquilla, the Zona Norte, Serena del Mar, Barú and private villas along the coastal road.
Appointments take place in hotels, Airbnb rentals, private apartments, villas and event venues. We do not operate a salon, and that is deliberate: it lets us invest in equipment, sterilisation and technician time rather than in a storefront.
Pricing and transparency
Every service price is shown in the booking form before you submit anything. There are no hidden charges for removal, length or colour unless a complex custom design or an out-of-perimeter journey is agreed in advance and confirmed in writing.
The quoted price includes travel within Cartagena, all materials and the technician's full appointment time.

How to judge a nail technician anywhere in the world
Three signals tell you almost everything. First, sterilisation: ask whether metal tools go through an autoclave and whether files are single-use. A professional answers instantly and without defensiveness. Second, the cuticle line — look at photos taken on the day of application and check whether product touches the skin. Product on the cuticle is the main cause of lifting and of allergic reactions.
Third, removal policy. A technician who soaks and files off product carefully, and who refuses to pry it, is protecting your nail plate at the cost of her own time. One who peels gel off in thirty seconds is not.
